"I want to highlight and remind about the basis in our life; the environment and the premises for survival and growth that are often taken for granted and forgotten as the very prerequisites for our existence. By elevating these common crops-much like icons-and revealing them down to the smallest detail, I hope to provoke reflection: that all living things are interconnected and vital, and that humanity cannot exist without a symbiosis with nature."
Hamrin Simonsson has explored the theme of "LIFE" for many years; first, she defined her own life, followed by family life in general, which led to portrayals of growing life, before in recent years approaching the core concept of "LIFE" itself.

"Jag vill lyfta fram och påminna om basen i vårt liv; miljön och premisserna för överlevande och växande som ofta tas för självklara och glöms bort att de är förutsättningen för vår existens. Genom att upphöja dessa vanliga grödor, liksom ikoner, och visa dem in i minsta veck hoppas jag att det väcker till eftertanke; att allt levande hör ihop och är viktigt och att människan inte kan existera utan symbiosen med naturen."
Hamrin Simonsson har undersökt temat "LIV" under många år; först ringade hon in sitt liv, därefter allmänt familjeliv som följdes av gestaltningar av det växande livet för att under de senaste åren närma sig själva begreppet "LIV".
